Summer Fireflies
The print “Summer Fireflies” features the maiko Toshikana of Miyagawa-cho dancing in June, with unique hair ornaments that include willow branches, an umbrella, and rhinestones, all of which symbolize the rainy season that comes to Kyoto in the first month of summer.
Toshikana is performing the dance “Natsu wa Hotaru,” which can be seen only in summer, just like the fireflies (hotaru in Japanese) from the dance’s title.
Edition Type: An Open Edition print created from my original image. Open Edition prints are not signed or numbered.

Borders: ½ inch on the 8 x 10 and a 1-inch on the two larger options

Archival Life: 100 years when framed with UV filter glass
Packaging: Your print will be placed in a plastic print sleeve and then carefully rolled and packed in a shipping tube for maximum protection. All prints are shipped unmatted and unframed.
Shipping: Although I am based in Japan, all prints will be shipped from the United States via USPS First Class Mail (2 - 5 days) or USPS First Class International Mail (about 2 - 3 weeks).
