The print “Gold Fans & Wine Shadows” features the geisha Yukako of Gion Kobu, who began her career in 2003 and is still active today. Few geisha have careers as long as Yukako’s.
Yukako is performing the dance “Kimi ni Ougi,” one of the few dances in the Gion Kobu repertoire that require a geisha to use two fans, making it one of the most visually stunning of all geisha dances. “Kimi ni Ougi” is a celebratory dance much requested at festive occasions such as weddings and the founding of a new venture.

Shipping: Although I am based in Japan, all prints will be shipped from the United States via USPS First Class Mail (2 - 5 days) or USPS First Class International Mail (about 2 - 3 weeks).
